Active camouflage material using only deferred rendering.
This camouflage holds up well at medium and long distances, but some distortion and artefacting become visible up close. The technology performs better on matte surfaces, and when out of direct sunlight.
This was a nice smaller project to work on before I begin a larger portfolio piece. There's so much more I could add in the future (chromatic aberration, damaged areas, etc), but for now I'm moving on.
Props to Harley Wilson for sharing his own take on active camouflage. I really liked the layering technique in his material, so I've incorporated some similar structures in this project.
